Keep your little ones behave all the time with these surefire parenting tips.
1
Don’t baby-talk them. Baby-talk would hamper personality development. Know when and when not to treat them like babies.
2
Give them a sense of responsibility. Simple things like returning his toys to the proper places where he got them is an effective practice of responsibility.
3
Reward them. When they do something good, give them a present.
4
Make them feel that you’re happy whenever they do something good. By doing so, they’d do their best to please you most of the time.
5
Verbal over physical. When reprimanding them about a wrongdoing, don’t spank them, reprimand them verbally.
6
Be a role-model yourself. Show them that you are a disciplined Mom or Dad yourself.
7
Know your limits. Know how to reprimand. Don’t overreact. They are toddlers, after all.
8
Make them understand the consequence of a certain action. Explain to them why certain things become “wrong” or “bad” and what its impact are.
9
Set examples among his playmates. Name a playmate who you think is doing good. Be careful not to compare though. This way, he’ll have a “role model” to look up to.
10
Be a playmate. Play with them. Don’t over impose your being a parent. Make him feel that you could also be a playmate at times.
