Taking care of a loved one with cancer is not only physically exhausting. More than the physical difficulties that it can bring you, the emotional and psychological pain that brings can become very intolerable and draining if you do not know the proper handling.
1
Ask old friends and long lost loved ones to visit her. Accept the fact that she will not be able to live as long as you can. Ponder her with sweet surprises. Ask her long lost loved ones to pay her a visit.
2
Be patient. Patience is everything that you need to give her. Bear in mind, it can be very painful in your part but this pain can be even tripled on her part.
3
Treat her normal. Don’t make her feel like she’s useless.
4
Talk to her as often as you can. Share as much thoughts as you can with her. It’s never too late to discover things about her.
5
Do your best not to cry in front of her. Crying is a sign of weakness. We understand how hard it is for you to take care of a loved one with cancer but crying in her presence will make her feel emotionally weak as well. At these times, you need to be her strength.

If she still can, bring her to a place where she can talk with her fellow cancer patients. Talking to people who shares the same feelings that she has will also give her courage and strength.
7
Make her feel special. Does she love flowers? Does she like little notes? Surround her with little sweet surprises.
