Hand tennis has many forms, and every variety has its own unique little set of rules. The game outlined here is simple, fast moving, and will provide hours of fun, especially if the neighbourhood kids are invited.

Find a wall, with about 5 yards of clear space.

2
Use chalk to draw a rectangle on the wall, starting about 15inches to 18inches from the ground and ending about one and a half yards from the ground.
3
On the ground, in front of the wall, mark out a court the width of the wall rectangle.
4
A centreline is needed, running from the wall to the end of the court.

5
At the end of the court, mark out a serving box.
6
Standing inside his serving box, player 1 throws a tennis ball at the wall. The object is to hit the wall inside the rectangle.
7
Player 2, who also starts in his serving box, must return the ball, allowing not more than 1 bounce.
8
Players are not allowed to hold the ball, but may scoop it in their hand, prior to returning it. The ball is not allowed to bounce outside of the lines.
9
The rules are simple and can be modified to suit particular circumstances. The serving player loses service if he makes two consecutive errors.
