More than 37 million people a year have sinus problems at least once a year. And some of them like me, have them even more often. Sinus problems can be caused by allergies, colds, or even mold. Even cool damp weather can affect sinus sufferers. You can't completely cure the problem but there are a few things that you can do for relief, and to help you be more productive. Because anyone knows that when you're suffering from sinus problems productivity is the last thing on your mind.

Consider buying an air purifier with a hepa filter, to help reduce allergens in your home.

If your sinus problems are caused from mold then a dehumidifier can be very helpful. Be sure to keep the humidity in your home below 50 %.

Breathing warm moist air is great way to get relief: Just add a couple of drops of eucalyptus oil to a pot of near boiling water and breath in the vapors 2-4 times a day.

During the winter you may need to use a humidifier to keep the air in your home from becoming to dry.

Many people have found relief from using a saline nasal wash system like the neti pot. Which work by washing out allergens and at the same time brings relief to the nasal passages.

Try a rice pack to reduce pain and inflammation, Just fill an old sock about half way with rice. Tie off the end and warm in the microwave to a comfortable temp. I usually heat mine about 75 seconds on high, (be very careful to not get it to hot) Then place it over the area where you are experiencing the sinus pain and relax.
