    ldp009 -

Thank you for your recent request in regards to your instruction on how to upgrade your PC systems from Windows 98 to Windows XP. Now the upgrade is very possible if you have the minimum hardware requirements on your PC. The first step before you upgrade your PC is to validate your PC has the following minimum hardware requirements.

    Minimum:
    233 MHz CPU *
64 MB of RAM (may limit performance and some features) * I would suggest at least have 512 MB.
1.5 GB of available hard disk space *
Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor
    CD-ROM or DVD drive
Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

Now if you have the following minimum computer hardware the next step would be to upgrade your operating system. This is very simple unless you are looking to re-fromat your drive then install XP. If you are not looking to reformat just pop in Windows XP CD and the installation will start. If you need anymore help with the installation just let us know.

Also, I would auggest instead of upgrading an old windows 98 machine, you may want to check out sites such as deals2buy.com and even ebay.com. Many people are selling really good PC's with Windows XP installed for less then $250. Just a suggestion. 8)
