Thank You...Thank You...Thank You for your help with my TV being stuck in wide screen mode. I had pressed every botton on the TV remote at least twice and nothing changed.

We have Time Warner Cable and I never even considered that the problem could be related to the cable. I followed your instructions and it worked like a charm. If anyone else has this problem they can use the cable remote and press settings. The first set was useless but there was an option to look at more settings when "page" was pressed and there it was. The screen size was set to "Zoom". I hit "select" and it automatically changed to "normal" and the screen went back to the normal size.
I would have never looked at cable settings if you hadn't mentioned it. I have no idea how the setting got changed in the first place, but at least I will know how to fix it if it ever happens again. I can't wait to tell my husband. You saved us the cost of a new TV and I can't thank you enough. I love this web site!!!

Thank you for your request in trying to find an instruction on your Sylvania LD155SC8 HD TV. Now this problem was a little tricky and took us sometime to figure out. Your problem with the wide screen can do to a couple different issues.

1st: Do you have cable or dish? If so your cable remote or dish remote can alter and change your tv settings to wide screen. So if you do have any of these services please let us know which service and we could help you with this. Most the time if you press the setup button the the remote and view settings it should show which type of viewing setting you have selected.

2nd: Next problem could be do to the setting with the TV itself. If this is the problem to fix this you will have to do the following.

On the Sylvania LD155SC8 HD TV there are 2 types of display modes that can be selected in the digital mode when the broadcasting station is sending 16:9 video signal. To change this you will need to press the "SCREEN MODE" button on the remote repeatedly to switch the TV

With our HDTV, it has a remote with a button on the bottom that says "format". If you hit the button, the screen will change from wide screen, to normal, to stretch. Hope this helps!
